Researched applications of deep learning and computer vision on archived satellite data captured by Indian weather satellites. Proposed the project definition 'Detection of Oceanic Eddies using Sea Level Anomaly Data' to utilize the potential of modern deep learning techniques on scientific data. Built image datasets and trained image segmentation model (Mask R-CNN) to detect oceanic eddies from sea level anomaly image dataset with an accuracy of 92%. Localized and classified types of oceanic eddies from detected eddy dataset by training object detection model (YOLO) with a classification accuracy of 98%.
